The solution to poverty
We have many solutions to poverty. Creating jobs would give people the chance to prove themselves as well as make money. Jobs such as factory jobs need workers, and do not have too many requirements, such as education. Raising minimum wage would increase the income of workers in poverty. This could only be a couple of dollars, but that still makes a huge impact. A few dollars could get their families food, shelter, and clothes. They could save up for college and get a good education. People that live on minimum wage struggle to feed their family each night. Sometimes they go to bed hungry. If minimum wage in Puerto Rico and Mississippi is raised, then poverty levels will decrease suddenly. Opening more homeless shelters will grant shelter and food to homeless people. Even small ones make a tremendous difference. With all of the open space available, a town's best interest to save those in poverty.
